On 22nd August 2006, External Verifiers from EDI, the Awarding Body through whom we deliver our Cultural Heritage NVQs came up to visit our learners in The Alnwick Garden.

Careers Event - Kirkley Hall
A careers event was held at Kirkley Hall for North tyneside schools to make them aware of the vast career opportunities within the North East in the Tourism industry. We had many exhibitors, including Segedunum Roman Fort, Baths and Museum, National Trust, Northumberland National Parks, Morpeth T.I.C and The Alnwick Gardens. We also had a catering activity for budding Jamie Olivers! Together with quizes, inter-active displays and demonstrations; and with the young people being able to talk to people actually working in the tourism industry in the region the whole day enabled them to have a better idea of the career and employment opportunities for the future.
Due to the success of this day a similar event was held at the Slaley Hall Hotel in Prudhoe, Queen Elizabeth High in Hexham and Ponteland High School.
