Keeping Customers Happy
Katy Larder is well suited with her promotion at a leading international clothing company.Katy, 22, who worked for Austin Reed at its support services site in Thirsk, approached the North East Chamber of Commerce’s Northallerton training centre last year to help to develop her skills on a Foundation Modern Apprenticeship in customer service.
After completing a year long training she is now putting her new knowledge and skills to the test following promotion to the company’s IT department – a grade higher than her previous position in customer services.Katy said: “Developing my communication and presentation skills has played a big part in my promotion. I might not have the same Level of customer contact as I had in the past but my new post revolves around listening to problems and giving out advice, so the skills required are exactly the same.”
