Northumberland College is the main FE provider in the county of Northumberland. The College delivers an extensive range of programmes from entry to foundation degree level qualifications. They have 7 centres delivering courses throughout Northumberland.

The Travel and Tourism department have 20 years experience of delivering a wide range of Travel & Tourism qualifications and they have a dedicated team of lecturers working throughout the region delivering high quality courses.  Over 90% of full-time Travel & Tourism students move to employment or further/higher education. The College also offers a range of tailored training programmes & niche training to meet the needs of employers.

Northumberland Training Agency (NTA)

Northumberland Training Agency (NTA) is part of the Children’s Services Directorate of Northumberland County Council. The Agency has been established for over 25 years and plays a pivotal role within the County in the provision of work based learning programmes for adults and young people.  NTA is contracted with the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) to deliver a wide range of work-based learning programmes.  Delivery of these programmes is primarily via the Apprenticeship route and this is the main focus of NTA’s provision.  NTA is a Lead Partner in the delivery of the LSC’s Entry 2 Employment programme. 

NTA is proactive in relation to new initiatives responding promptly to government training initiatives and actively seeking new business and development opportunities.  This is evidenced by NTA’s proven record in accessing alternative funding streams e.g. ESF co-financing and other government monies to enable eligible adult learners to access NVQ programmes.   NTA can also arrange competitive private contracts with employers to deliver qualifications in the workplace.  NTA is also an active participant in several 14-19 partnership groups across Northumberland working closely with a number of high schools as well as Northumberland College.
